CHET FORTUNE
About Chet Fortune
Chet Fortune, widely known as Coach Chet, is an elite strength and conditioning coach, keynote speaker, and high-performance mentor who has spent over two decades operating at the highest levels of professional sport. He is best known as the longtime strength and conditioning coach for multi-division world champion Terence "Bud" Crawford, helping guide him through multiple weight classes and championship runs.
Beyond boxing, Chet has trained professional athletes across numerous sports, owned and operated a successful performance gym, and logged more than 30,000 hours of hands-on coaching experience. His work centers on discipline, resilience, and the unseen preparation required to perform when the moment demands it.
In 2021, Chet survived a catastrophic car accident that left him temporarily paralyzed with a spinal cord injury. Doctors questioned whether he would walk or work again. Through relentless effort and mindset, he returned not only to walking but to coaching world-class athletes at the highest level.
Today, Chet speaks to organizations, teams, and leaders about performing under pressure, overcoming adversity, and winning when circumstances aren't ideal, drawing on lived experience rather than theory.
Speaking Topics
Elite performance is not built when everything is going well; it is revealed when things fall apart. Drawing from over two decades of coaching world-class athletes and his own recovery from a life-altering spinal cord injury, Chet Fortune shares what it actually takes to keep executing when conditions are far from perfect. This keynote focuses on resilience, personal standards, accountability, and how to win even when momentum, comfort, or certainty are missing.
Everyone wants the results, but few respect the preparation. In this keynote, Chet pulls back the curtain on the unseen work behind elite performance. He breaks down the habits, discipline, and daily decisions that never make the highlight reel but determine long-term success. Attendees learn why consistency beats intensity, how elite performers manage energy and focus, and why excellence is built long before the spotlight turns on.
Pressure does not break people; lack of preparation does. Having prepared athletes for championship moments on the world stage, Chet Fortune explains how top performers reframe pressure as opportunity. This keynote provides practical strategies for staying composed, decisive, and effective when expectations are high and margins for error are small.
After waking from a coma with a spinal cord injury and temporary paralysis, Chet was told he might never walk or work again. This keynote is not about the accident; it is about the decisions made afterward. Chet explains how adversity can either redefine your limits or reinforce your standards, and how leaders can model resilience without relying on excuses or sympathy.
Motivation is unreliable, discipline is transferable. In this keynote, Chet explains why talent alone rarely sustains success and how systems, routines, and standards separate high performers from underperformers. Attendees gain clarity on how elite individuals stay consistent, especially when motivation is low or absent.
Great leadership often looks calm on the surface, but it is forged under pressure. Drawing from years of coaching elite athletes through career-defining moments, Chet shares insights on communication, trust, accountability, and decision-making when everything is on the line. This keynote translates championship-level coaching principles into practical leadership tools.
Testimonials
I believe good speakers tell their story well, but world-class speakers use their story to hold up a mirror, inviting you to examine your own thoughts, beliefs, and actions. Chet Fortune did exactly that. He gently challenged me to face and question the parts of myself I hadn't slowed down enough to examine.
As a leader, his message resonated deeply with my team. The impact didn't end when the talk did. It continues to shape conversations, perspective, and action well beyond a single motivational morning.
