Speaker Spotlight
He Had the MBA, the Consulting Career and the Modeling Contracts. He Was Miserable. Then He Studied Under the Man Who Founded Positive Psychology.

Robert Mack · Positive Psychology Expert · Oprah-Endorsed Happiness Coach · Miami Beach, Florida
On paper, Robert Mack had already won. He had an MBA. He had a Big Five management consulting career. He had a second life as a model and actor, booking campaigns for Nike, Reebok, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus and landing a role on the CW’s South Beach.
And he was deeply unhappy. Every box the culture told him to check was checked, and none of it delivered what it promised.
That gap, between succeeding and actually feeling good, sent him to the University of Pennsylvania to study the science of happiness under Martin Seligman, the founder of positive psychology. It is also the reason companies like Google, Microsoft and Salesforce now put him in front of their people.
Success Does Not Lead to Happiness. It Runs the Other Way.
Most organizations are built on a quiet assumption: push hard enough, hit the number, and the satisfaction follows. Robert’s entire body of work rests on the opposite finding. Happiness is not the reward for success. It is one of the strongest predictors of it.
That is not a motivational slogan in his hands. He earned his Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) at Penn, the program Seligman built to take the research out of the lab and into real lives and real workplaces. The research Robert draws on, including Shawn Achor’s widely cited work in Harvard Business Review, links positive, energized employees to higher productivity, stronger sales and more creative problem-solving. Stressed, depleted teams do the reverse.
Robert frames it as clean energy and dirty energy. Stress, strain and struggle burn hot and burn out, and they take people’s wellbeing with them. Ease, enjoyment and enthusiasm burn slower, rebuild faster and keep paying back. Most teams are running almost entirely on the first kind, and most leaders are surprised by how much performance they have been leaving on the table.
Why “Lazy Intelligence” Lands With High Performers
His most-requested keynote has a title designed to make a room of overachievers uncomfortable: Lazy Intelligence: Do Less, Achieve More. The argument is that better results do not require more hours, more hustle or more grit. They require knowing where your effort actually pays off.
Robert shows audiences how to identify their signature strengths and build their work around them, so they flow more and force less. Instead of chasing achievement for its own sake, they learn to pursue meaningful alignment, and to trade the depleting stress and anxiety they have normalized for energizing ease and enthusiasm. The goal is not a gentler workload. It is better output from people who are no longer running on fumes.
It is a message that resonates in exactly the rooms that seem least likely to want it. Most recently, Robert led a 90-minute leadership session on reinvention and sustainable performance for Google’s CAM Summit. Google’s feedback afterward was that he brought tremendous energy, insight and authenticity, and that the audience responded exceptionally well.
From the Boardroom to the Red Carpet
Robert’s career is unusual in that he has lived on both sides of the camera and both sides of the business world. He spent two seasons as Co-Host and Celebrity Love Coach on E!’s Famously Single, worked as Consulting Producer and On-Camera Expert for OWN’s Mind Your Business, and served as Executive Producer and Host of Good Morning LaLa Land on Apple TV and Hulu. He has appeared regularly on Good Morning America, Today, CBS Mornings and Access Hollywood.
Years of coaching celebrities on camera became the foundation for his keynote Star Power: Become Magnetic, Memorable, and Impossible to Ignore. Its premise is that presence is not about looks, title or even intelligence. It is technique, and it can be learned. Robert combines the science of charisma with what he has seen work under studio lights to show audiences how to project presence, positivity and power in the boardroom, on stage and in every conversation.
Corporate marketers have noticed. A Chief Marketing Officer at Microsoft, whose team had worked with experts from Jimmy Fallon to Bobbie Thomas, called Robert outstanding. At Carnival Cruise Line, the CMO’s only regret was not finding him sooner.
