Speaker Spotlight

The Apparel Industry Had Quietly Accepted That the Problem Was Not Worth Solving. She Engineered the Answer and Now Licenses It to Other Brands.

Nita Marquez - Inventor and Keynote Speaker

Nita Marquez — Inventor of DropCut™ Technology · Founder of OnTheMarq LLC · Author of Dropping Bombs · Former National Fitness Champion

Every jumpsuit on the market shares the same design flaw, and the industry’s answer had been snaps, zippers or buttons, all of which are visible, all of which fail.

Nita Marquez engineered DropCut™, the first no-hardware bathroom-access mechanism ever built into a jumpsuit. Not a workaround. A mechanism, protected as intellectual property, now expanding across multiple brands through active licensing partnerships.

She founded OnTheMarq LLC in 2017 and turned one engineering breakthrough into a product line, a publishing arm and a coaching brand.

The Innovation Keynote That Is Actually About the Middle

Most innovation talks are about the idea. The idea is the easy part, and every person in the audience has had one.

Nita’s signature keynote is about the unglamorous middle. The prototypes that failed. The patent process. The manufacturing conversations. The specific difference between having an idea and owning intellectual property, which is the distinction almost nobody covers from a stage and the one that decides whether anything comes of it.

The biggest opportunities are usually hiding inside products everyone has already agreed are good enough.

Her fourth keynote extends that into category creation directly: how to spot the assumption an entire industry has stopped questioning, how to test whether the gap is real, and how to build something defensible once you find one. For a product team, an R&D group or a business school audience, that is a more useful hour than a survey of other people’s innovations.

Two Other Lanes Worth Knowing About

The CHAMPION Life System is her performance keynote, and its credential is unusual. She is a two-time Miss Fitness Arizona and a former National Fitness Champion who placed seventh in the world across 46 countries, competing as an IFBB Pro for more than three decades. She is also a Behavioral Health Facilitator and biofeedback expert, so the session is built on how the body actually responds to pressure rather than on generic motivation. That fits corporate wellness programming, HR-led offsites and performance science departments.

Dropping Bombs is the reinvention keynote, drawn from her 2026 book with Rushmore Publishers. She is direct about what she was carrying while she built the company, including raising three children on her own, and equally direct about the choices that moved her forward. It suits women’s conferences, leadership offsites and commencement.

Her motto sits under all four: the challenged are the chosen.
